I think the tots are out of this world. Fan of the MOB burger. Can't go wrong here and they have Founders.

I used to frequent this place for an easy, quick dinner and a drink...until I went last week and discovered their new menu. I was disappointed to see all of my favorites gone including all of the pizzas, a favorite appetizer and many others. I ordered the Asian beef flautas appetizer and the Michigan salad. The Flautas were mushy and not crisp as you would expect to find and the flavor was off. I ate half of one and decided I couldn't eat more. The Michigan salad, I thought, was the same from the old menu only to find it had completely changed. The cherry dressing, instead of the raspberry vinaigrette, l thought it came with, was thick like jam and so sugary I ended up asking for some balsamic vinaigrette. The lettuce looked like a bag of romaine, not the leafy mix they had prior...throw on some onion, cucumber and walnuts and you have yourself the most boring "Michigan salad" I've ever had...thoroughly disappointing dinner. The new waiter we had was unfriendly and didn't smile once even when I thanked him for everything and still tried to enjoy my dinner, not like the usual wait staff. The only positive I had was the great beer and cider selection which hasn't changed. Needless to say I can get a drink elsewhere and won't be going back now until changes are made.

We dined at J D Reardon's on a Sunday evening, as a group of six adults. The beer selection was great. The food was quite good, though I thought it was on the pricey side. $10 for a veggie burger seems excessive, especially when it only comes with chips. It was $2 extra for fries, and they were typical (i.e. seemed like grocery store frozen fries, not hand cut or anything). My husband's burger was good, and the others liked their food. I wouldn't mind going back, though it wouldn't be a first choice.

Recently there on a visit and checked this place out. I found it overpriced, boring and kind of lame. I'll look elsewhere next time in the area.

I love JD's! I hear it used to be a little sketchy but I have only been there since the renovations and change in ownership. Jay is great. Love the staff. Super awesome craft brew selection that changes often. And it has one of the best burgers in town.

Just okay. Decent decor in a pretty cool building. Bartender seemed more into her phone than taking my order. For the money, overall atmosphere and better service in that area I'd suggest Bulls Head

Don't go here. Place changed owners and the new management does not know how to run a bar. They stared by getting rid of the best specials, and the service is awful. In fairness to the new management the staff at this place was always terrible. Saw a fight break out and the wait staff did not seem like they really cared, they just let the guys keep drinking. In summary; bad service, higher prices, terrible atmosphere and the food has also suffered. Go down the street to Cambridge House if you are looking for a bar in the area.

Food prices stayed the same with new management but portions were cut in half or worse. Beer selection gives JDR a two star rating.

Ever since they got rid of the half-off happy hour this place has gone downhill. Only reason I stop in from time to time is for pizza on Thursdays or for the deep fried pickles. Once JD's figures out how to market to the people who live at the Boardwalk they will fill up. Until then they are missing out on a huge captive audience by not giving residents an incentive to go and spend money there...
